Sjoberg DUO Workbench (No Comments)

The Sjoberg DUO is the most versatile workbench on the market. It ain’t cheap, but it’s worth it. You can pick one up for about $500. Admittedly, I have a much more inferior workbench, but this toy is on my list. :)

Porch Glider For Summer (2 Comments)

Summertime is coming, and my project ideas are heating up! I saw some plans for a porch glider, and it looks pretty nice -plus not overly difficult. Have any of you out there built a glider like this before? Here is the description…

Comfortable, beautiful, and designed to last for generations. Easy to follow plans guarantee success in the shop. Bench moves smoothly on eight pivot hinges, providing a unique gliding sensation. Measures 59-3/4” long X 36-1/2” High X 30” Deep when finished.

New Project: Wine Rack (1 Comment)

I am not a huge wine drinker, but I keep enough bottles of wine in the house that I really should get a rack. I now think I’d rather put my wine on display in a nice looking rack than keep all my bottles hidden in the cabinet…plus my kitchen cabinets are all full, so once I get this rack built it should free-up some space. I don’t have a final plan for this project yet, but I’m going to shoot to build a rack that looks fairly similar to this one…

Wine Rack

I will probably build one that is much taller and bit wider - that way I can just set it on the floor on a short wall in my dining room. I only have about 15 bottles of wine at the moment, so I might need to buy a few more just to fill out the rack once I finish it…but that won’t be for a few weeks at least!

My Must-Have Gent’s Saw (No Comments)

One of my favorite hand tools right now is my somewhat new 6″ Crown Brass Back Gent’s Saw. I just picked this baby up late last year, and I’m real happy with it. It only cost me about 18 bucks, but sometimes it is the simple toys that make me happy. :) I mainly use it for cutting box joints & dovetails. If 6″ is not the right size for you, they also make this one in an 8″ and a 4″…but for me the 6″ is just right.

Checking Out The Delta 16” Variable Speed Scroll Saw (2 Comments)

My first post! I just checked out this scroll saw, and will probably buy it! Some key features I like…

• Heavy duty, 2 amp. induction motor
• Patented, upper and lower blade chucks feature Quickset II Blade Chuck System for quick, tool-free blade changes.
• Fingertip blade tensioning control maximizes blade life.
• Removable dust collection box with 1 1/2″ dust port.
• Built-in air blower keeps cutting line dust-free.
• Teardrop-shaped, cast-iron table tilts 0-45° and extends full length of throat for maximum workpiece support.
• Variable speed control (600-1650 CSPM) for cutting wood, metal and plastics.
• Includes convenient carrying handle and blade storage.

The built-in air blower is a must have feature for me. I can’t stand that dust covering up the wood! Any opinions on this saw?
